Curb and gutter is one of the oldest services that our company performs. The majority of the curb and gutter our company places is done so through slipforming. Slipforming is a process in which concrete is placed by a slipform paver, also commonly referred to as a curb machine. In this process concrete is discharged from a ready-mix concrete truck to the conveyor belt of the curb machine. The concrete is transported by the conveyor belt to the hopper of the machine. Inside the hopper the concrete is vibrated by high power vibrators, up to 12,000 vibrations per minute. The vibration consolidates the concrete and forces it to pass through the concrete mold to form the shape of the desired curb. Two major advantages of slipforming are the rapid rate at which curb can be placed and higher strength curb which is a result of the vibration that occurs within the mold.

There are many different types of curb and gutter that our company constructs, including 18” curb & gutter, 24” curb & gutter, 30” curb & gutter, 18” valley gutter, 24” valley gutter, NCDOT shoulder berm gutter, NCDOT expressway curb & gutter, and various types of stand-up curb. Our company performs these services under prime contracts and sub contracts. Our firm has been recognized for our accomplishments in curb placement in "Gomaco World" magazine; please click the link below to read the featured article.
