Land clearing is the process of cutting, removing, and properly disposing of all wooded vegetation on a project. The land clearing process typically starts with logging the existing timber. The timber is usually divided into marketable timber, which is sold to sawmills and lumber yards, and smaller diameter timber which is sold as pulp wood. Pulp wood is often used in the production of paper products, OSB plywood, and more recently as a source of green energy. After land clearing is completed, grubbing operations are performed. Grubbing includes the removal of grassy vegetative matter, root mat, stumps, and topsoil material high in organic material and surface debris.
Depending on our company's work load schedule, BSI has the capacity to self-perform clearing and grubbing operations, or subcontract these services to quality firms that specialize in clearing and grubbing operations.
