BSI was the prime contractor for the site improvements portion of this project. The building construction contract was awarded to Cooper Construction of Hendersonville, NC. The project involved the expansion of the existing fire station, and all construction activities occurred while the fire station stayed in operation. Major items included within the project included 3,600 SF of concrete removal, 462 LF of pipe removal, 10,000 CY of export excavation, erosion control, 880 LF of storm drain, 21 storm drain structures, 500 LF of water main relocation, 700 SY of heavy duty concrete paving, 2,200 SY of asphalt paving, and 2,200 SF of soil nail wall construction.
