BSI was awarded the prime contract for the site improvements for the future home of the Jim Brown Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealership in Franklin , NC . The site had been partially graded by the previous property owner who left cut slopes that were too steep and had undermined utility poles located on the property. The existing cut slopes were as steep as 0.5 to 1 and the project design lessened these slopes to 1.75 to 1. Representatives from BSI worked closely with Duke Energy to coordinate the relocation of the existing power lines that crossed the property. Major items included within construction of the project were 2.5 AC of clearing & grubbing, 35,000 CY of excavation, 5,425 SF of reinforced slope, 1,433 LF of grass-lined ditch, 2 AC of permanent seeding, 7,000 SY of straw blanket, and 5,200 TN of aggregate base.
