The Villages is a proposed commercial development located in Sylva, NC. BSI performed the mass grading portion of phase 1, which created two commercial lots. The project had steep terrain and the excavated material was predominately soapstone. BSI utilized it's best operators to overcome the steep grades and managed the earthwork operations so that the soapstone material was only placed at certain depths and in non-structural applications. Major items included within the project were 4 AC of clearing & grubbing, erosion control measures, and 47,200 CY of excavation.
