BSI was awarded the prime contract for the infrastructure and site improvements portion of Pack Square Park, located in Asheville, NC . Our contract was Phase I of a multi-million dollar revitalization and expansion of Pack Square Park . A unique aspect of the project was that a large portion of the existing brick paver sidewalks were installed by our company in the 1980's. The original sidewalk project was performed under the direction of our company's founder, while this project was directed by his sons. Even after 25 years of service, the original project was still in great shape. Major items included within the construction of the project were 4,900 LF of curb removal, 35,000 SF of sidewalk removal, 7,200 SY of asphalt removal, 1,660 LF of pipe removal, 1,750 SY of heavy duty exposed aggregate concrete paving, 22,000 SF of brick paver sidewalks, 1,150 SF of brick paver crosswalks, 1,600 LF of storm drain pipe, 32 storm drain structures, erosion control, water distribution, and sanitary sewer installation.
